Democratic Party VP candidate Governor Tim Walz’s links with the Chinese Communist Party have created a huge uproar with the US House Oversight Committee on Monday asking Alexander Mayorkas, the Homeland Security Secretary to look into the matter.
The House oversight committee, which is chaired by GOP Rep James Comer, has sent a letter to Mayorkas to appear before the House to furnish details about Tim Walz’s alleged CCP links. The Committee has given a deadline of October 7, 2024, for Mayorkas to appear before the House.
Comer wrote,
“Specifically, through whistleblower disclosures, the Committee has learned of a non-classified, Microsoft Teams group chat among DHS employees – titled ‘NST NFT Bi-Weekly Sync’ – that contains information about Governor Walz that is relevant to the Committee’s investigation,”.
Mayorkas has been asked to furnish details on the Microsoft Teams chat as well as regional information reports and intelligence notes on Walz and his office staff in Minnesota beginning from November 2023.
James Comer has also asked Christopher Wray, the Director of the FBI to share details of Walz’s alleged conversations with CCP associates.
House GOP Investigation was conducted into Walz’s visits to China and it is alleged that Walz has links with the Chinese Communist Party. Republicans in the Oversight Committee also revealed that Walz visited China at least 30 times and was close to an institution that is loyal to the CCP.

More damaging news came in a fresh update by committee chair Comer who also stated that he received fresh whistleblower information from several employees of the Homeland Security Department who have already expressed concerns about Tim Walz’s ties to the CCP.
The information was obtained from a screenshot of Microsoft Teams chat used by DHS employees.
Tim Walz at the age of 25 years had completed his college education and he signed up for Harvard University’s WorldTeach program and traveled to China. According to his online biography, he was the first of the US Government-approved group of American educators who arrived in China after the country opened its doors to the outside world in the 1980s. In 89-90 during his sojourn in China, the Chinese army crushed pro-democracy protests centered on Beijing’s Tiananmen Square in June 1989.
In a 2014 congressional hearing commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Tiananmen crackdown Walz stated,
“It was my belief at that time that diplomacy was going to happen on many levels, certainly people to people and the opportunity to be in a Chinese high school at that critical time seemed to me to be really important.”
