Emmerdale actress Eden Taylor-Draper has hinted at the outcome of a difficult storyline on the soap.

The Belle actress, 26, has been at the heart of a harrowing abuse story on the long-running soap.

Her character has suffered coercive control and abuse at the of her manipulative husband, Tom King (James Chase) for months, though it seems he’s finally getting what he deserves.

Speaking on This Morning, Eden was questioned on whether Tom will get away with it or if justice will be served.

Playing coy, she told hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley: ‘Obviously no spoilers, can’t say anything, I hope so.

‘I think to do the story right and to show that justice [can be done].’

Eden also spoke about the ‘powerful’ storyline, and the impact it has had on her.

‘It is exhausting, not just for me and James but for everyone,’ she began.

‘But the passion for getting it right is what drives us, we’re so passionate about it.

‘Yeah it’s tough, but it’s the most rewarding storyline as well.’

The cast and crew have been working with domestic abuse charity Refuge on the storyline, which has been running for more than a year.

‘Everyone’s journey of abuse is different, but having their insight is what has made this story,’ she said.

The actress went on to talk about how her character Belle has been ‘love-bombed’ and the rise in tech being used to control partners.

‘This is something that surprised me when first chatting to Refuge, how tech control, and especially since Covid, is massively on the rise,’ Eden explained.

‘It’s brilliant that we’re showing it.’

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1.
