Kaizer Chiefs legend Brian Baloyi appears to have taken a dig at Mamelodi Sundowns when he said South Africa has two real clubs which are Amakhosi and Orlando Pirates.
The 50-year-old retired keeper played over 60 games for Masandawana winning two league titles. Speaking to Macgyver Mukwevho on “Podcast and Chill“, the man known as ‘Spider-man’ predicted Pirates would dethrone Sundowns this season for the PSL title.
Having spent a decade at Chiefs, Baloyi switched to Sundowns in 2004 where he will go on and end his career.

“Locally, I will say Pirates to win the league. I see Sundowns struggling this year, not being as dominant as they were in the last few years,” he said “Podcast and Chill” podcast.
“I see us (Chiefs) finishing anywhere in the top four, hopefully second or third.”
Baloyi went on to make a bold statement saying Chiefs and Pirates are the only ‘real’ teams in the PSL. He said this despite Sundowns dominating the league for the past decade.
“Some other clubs, their fans always fight with me. I always tell them there are two clubs in South Africa: Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates; the others are just teams,” he said.
The former Bafana Bafana keeper also shared his thoughts on Chiefs new coach Nasreddine Nabi.
“I’ve had an interaction with Coach Nabi,” Baloyi said.
“He loves youngsters. He reminds me a lot of Muhsin Ertuğral.
“That’s why you’ll see the Vilakazis and Shabalalas playing so much. Your Zwane.
“You’ll see a lot of the youngsters, cos this man [Coach Nabi], like I said reminds me a lot of Muhsin Ertuğral.
“And he’s giving these youngsters a chance and for them to express themselves,” he said.
